I don't expect so: The virus makes itself a part of the genome of the host, hiding in the chromosomes where it can't be reached and will lie dormant for a lifetime. Especially, don't do anything risky with the expectation that "there will be a cure soon.".

Living with HIV: There are some incredible research projects underway looking at creating HIV immunity. A whole group of us are working with the ragon institute to identify why some with HIV are protected. There are many other interesting projects. Have hope!
