Serum : Serum HIV screening tests are highly sensitive. According to a 2005 report issued by the U.S. Preventive services task force, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (elisa) -- the form of testing used in U.S. Laboratories -- is 99.7% sensitive for detecting hiv-1. If you've had 15 negative tests for hiv, you're not infected by this virus. There are a multitude of conditions that cause swollen, tender lymph nodes. Hopefully your ct scan will shed some light on your situation. (make sure you tell your doctor about travel to foreign countries and other potential avenues of exposure to unusual infectious agents.) i hope things turn out well for you!
