It depends on the ??: Your doctor can be the best person to guide you. Ultrasound is of limited value to examine the abdomen for any kind of tumors. Ct has some advantages over ultrasound yet it has some limitations in that it does not show bowel cancer all that well. That said, cancer would be low on the list of causes for abdominal pain. Often we use more than one tests if cancer is suspected based on your symptoms.
