How does mild iron deficiency anemia affect hba1c levels?

Mild effect: Studies have shown a mild effect of iron deficiency raising HGB a1c levels but it doesn't appear to be clinically significant in known diabetics. In other words we can still be guided by their hga1c levels even in the presence of iron deficiency.
