How often do babies die after amnio?

Amnio Risk: Some complications of amniocentesis include preterm labor and delivery, respiratory distress, postural deformities, fetal trauma and alloimmunisation of the mother. Amniocentesis related fetal demise is very low, but i would have you speak to your OB about all risks associated with any procedure during pregnancy.

<1:200-1:1000.: Amniocentesis complcations occur infrequently nowadays, with most recent studies quoting an overall complication rate of 1:200 - 1:1, 000. Fetal loss is a component of these complications and should occur even more rarely than those numbers above.
