No: Peak incidence of sids occurs at age between 2 and 4 months, but sids still happens up to a year old. Back-to-sleep, breastfeeding, and avoidance of second hand smoke and cosleeping help reducing the chance.

Less common: The risk of sids does decrease between four and six months, definitely. There are SIDS deaths classified between six months and a year, but many experts feel that these are more typically accidental suffocation deaths rather than true SIDS. Remember back sleep in a cool room without a hat!
