A member asked:

Could a diagnosis of ms be made?

3 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

Straightforward: Diagnosis is based on clinical history and physical exam, and confirmed with MRI images of brain and/or neck, but lumbar puncture for spinal fluid eval may also be helpful. Also important that other disorders which can appear like ms be ruled out such as lyme disease, lupus, pernicious anemia, etc.

MS diagnosis pathway: The diagnosis is made by an interview, physical exam, and sometimes MRI and spinal tap testing. For information, see this web tool: http://www.neurocuro.com/how-do-you-know-if-you-have-ms/
