A member asked:

What lab work helps with the diagnosis of ms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There's really no: blood test for MS. History and physical exam and MRI of the brain and spinal cord with contrasting dye in a specific pattern may suggest MS. A spinal tap with high levels of a substance called myelin basic protein makes MS the diagnosis of MS more likely. Pain is an unlikely symptom early on.
