Eruption patterns: This is not typical but in itself is not a concern. I would however see a pedodontist for a consult and start building a relationship between you, your child and the dentist. The pedodontist can also advise you how to set the groundwork for a life of healthy teeth and gums for your child.

Unusual, but: Eruption patterns can vary widely. Are you sure it is the canine (third tooth from the middle) and not the lateral incisor (second tooth from the middle)? While still not "typical" this is the more likely scenario. While we cannot control eruption pattern in infants, a visit to the pediatric dentist will put your mind at ease and set your child on the path to a life time of good dental health.

Unusual eruption: If baby teeth come in dramatically out of sequence, there is often an underlying reason. Although eruption patterns vary widely, very unusual for canines to erupt first. Your child should see 2 dent-facial growth and development specialists, a Pedodontist (Pediatric Dental Specialist) now, and an Orthodontist at age 7. No, it's not to early. Go find out what's happening.
