Return to your Dr.: Without seeing the "tooth shell", it is hard to know what that is, but it sounds like you already had a dentist who removed the tooth for you. Sometimes, a small fragment of separated bone can come out to the surface on its own, or it could be something your dentist placed for tissue healing but dislodged. If you return to the doctor who saw you for extraction, you will quickly find out.
