Unusual: Most nodes are deep enough in adults that they are not seen, or color appreciated. Nodes with some venous congestion can be bluish. Melanoma in nodes or other masses can be bluish. If thus is your personal observation, be seen and may need biopsy. Complete history and exam is needed.

Infection: Lymphadenitis is I flammation of the lymph node. Bluish color may indicate blood. Maybe blood clot. If the cervical lymph node is swollen and tender then it may be infection. No tenderness means extra lymph tissue so that is more worrisome. Always see doctor if non painful lymph nodes and expect a thorough work up.
