A member asked:

What are the dangers of spleen removal and kidney biopsy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Splenectomy: can predispose you to future infections with encapsulated organisms and elevated platelet count that can lead to blood clots. Kidney biopsy if done by and interventional radiologist is generally very safe, if coagulation parameters are normal. Both answers are general answers and it may not apply to your specific situation, so ask your doctor for detailed answer.
