Lymph node: Spleen is not a suitable organ for a biopsy. If there is a lesion in the spleen suggestive of lymphoma, the spleen would be removed for examination by a pathologist. Removing spleen requires surgery, it will hurt some and there will be a scar at the site of incision. However, a lymphoma is far more serious than a scar. Discuss with your doctor if a lymph node biopsy is an option.
