Blepharitis: Most likely this is blepharitis, chronic crusting, itching, flaking of the eyelids/lid margins. Often this is associated with dryness, grittiness, burning and redness of the eyes. Try using hot compresses each am and a gentle lid scrub (dilute baby shampoo or a wipe like ocusoft) to control, but if symtpoms persist an eye doctor can provide further help/treatment.
