Swelling: The swelling may be due to your tooth abscesses or to an allergy to the amoxicillen. Take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and if the swelling decreases you can presume that you have an allergy to the amoxicillen.

Probably: I would urge you to seek dental help now as any level of dental infection even while taking antibiotics can be life threatening.

Likely it has spread: I would have it looked at asap by your dentist. The antibiotic is only a temporary fix until definitive treatment is rendered and if the infection is not responding to the antibiotic you need to have it changed and treatment addressed asap.

BEWARE: Yes, an abscess (infection) can spread if not dealt with, into the blood stream, tissues, muscles and eventually anywhere where the blood flows- heart, brain, etc. Don't wait to have it treated!

I'm afraid so: Antibiotics can limit the spread of infection from abscessed teeth, but only root canal rx or extraction can eliminate the infection. In your case sounds like the antibiotic is ineffective. You must seek treatment immediately. You have a serious spreading infection that needs prompt attention.
