A member asked:

I have reflux and esophagitis. it's been three weeks since diagnosis. when i swallow saliva, there is a gurgling sound or click. not all the time. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tried acid blockers?: Most esophagitis will likely reflect injury from reflux of stomach contents (gerd) and should typically respond to acid blocker medicines. If you've tried this route and you derived no relief after 2-3 weeks of acid suppression treatment (gurgling/ clicking as described), then seek medical evaluation since esophagitis may be more severe than anticipated, or due to a variety of non-reflux causes.
