It depends.: Antipsychotics are also called major tranquilizers as opposed to minor tranquilizers such as benzodiazepines. Depending on how long you've been on the medication or what dosages you were on, it may take several weeks to get the drug out of your system. Stay active, eat a balanced diet and avoid intoxicating beverages. Hang in there.
