Good sleep hygiene: Set a goal! if you want to get up at around 7am, and want to sleep 7-8 hours, then don't sleep-in. Get up at 7am and no nap during day. Then try to go to bed 10-11pm..It will be hard at first, but be patient! it may take 1-2 wks to get used to. Avoid stimulant (caffeine etc) use after 3pm n don't exercise too late. Lower the light, relaxation/reading before bed. May need anxiety med. Good luck..

Early sleeplessness: You answered your own question that you think too much at night. Anxiety can be the reason. Also you are 50 years female, may be going through premenopausal phase with decrease levels of hormones. You didn't give much of medical, drug, dietary, social, psychiatric history. Please see your doctor for thorough insomnia evaluation.
