Oral Cancer: The doctor who diagnosed the cancer should be able to refer you to the appropriate specialists in your area. There are many different types of oral cancers and treatment depends upon which one you have, type, classification, etc. An oral surgeon, a head and neck surgeon and an oncologist might all play a role.

Usually surgery: Oral cancer is usually treated with surgery first. If lymph nodes are involved (or if the suspicion is high that they are involved) a neck dissection may be done.Depending on the results of the surgery, radiation and sometimes even chemo may be added. Buccal cancer is known to be locally aggressive and some advocate radiation after surgery, even for small cancers. Please see a head and neck surgeon.
