Don't smoke: Things that help fractures heal include calcium (1500mg/day), vitamin d (2000iu) a day, but there is some conflicting data on that. But vitamin d deficiency can slow fracture healing. Above all else avoid smoking which greatly slows fracture healing. Also avoid nsaids (like ibuprofen) as they may also slow bone healing.
