6 to 8 weeks: For a healthy individual, bone normally takes 6-8 weeks to heal. Delayed healing can occur in some instances. There are devices called bone stimulators which have to shown to speed up bone healing which might be an option for you in the future if healing is delayed.

Healing time: The average healing time for a tibia fracture that did not break through the skin is 4.5 months. For fractures that are more severe or break through the skin the average time is increased to 5.5 months.
