It should. If the: H pylori infection is treated effectively, then the ulcers and then the gastritis should heal, especially in a young, healthy individual. Gastritis may linger for some time, but it should improve after treatment. If it doesn't, you should see if something else is contributing, including more serious stomach issues, food sensitivities, etc. If you smoke, this will make the gastritis linger.
