Most likely a virus: It is cold and flu season and there are cold fronts moving about...Most illnesses are viral in nature. You can give elderberry or umcka. Vit d 400 iu a day will also be helpful and if things worsen, see your pediatrician.

VIRAL ILLNESS:: A common condition, caused by bunch of viruses. Starts with runny nose, cough, low grade fever, poor appetite, some nausea/vomiting/diarrhea. Make sure drinks enough fluid, if too much mucous- reduce milk, some extra juice for few days, suck nose with bulb syringe if runny; if thick mucous, use saline nasal drop, then suck. Acetaminophen if fever is above 101 f. See pediatrician if not better.
