Low c3 component level only. what could it be?

Why was it obtained?: If you have an autoimmune disease, a low C3 often means the presence of an active disease. An isolated finding without other symptoms would mean little.

Complement: In the presence of dry eyes, joint pain and other clinical symptoms it may indicate autoimmune disease. Why was it ordered? The test by itself does not indicate much except that the complement components are being over consumed by an inflammatory process.
