Depends: This depends on when the stent was put in ; many factors such as type if stent , bare metal or drug eluding, affect this. The major controversy is when it's been longer than a year.

Stay on: The opinions are mixed. You need to stay on it for a year definitely. Occasionally stent thrombosis occurs late after stunting in a complex lesion. Only your cardiologist knows the complexity of your disease.
