At this time it : Reasonable to see physician. May be just muscular issue but with history of prior cervical surgery there is chance it may be disc problem but even most of these are treated non operatively. If pain is severe enough ;/or associated neurologic symptoms/findings imaging may be indicated otherwise activity modification, pt, meds if no contraindications for several weeks ; possible pain management.
