Depends on problem: Obstruction or cancer untreated may be fatal. An asymptotic stone or a polyp untreated is of no consequence. Need something more specific.

Gall stones: Typical gall bladder symptoms include excess belching, lower chest discomfort, pain in the right upper abdomen radiating around to the right side of the back usually after fatty foods. Vomiting may also be present.The right upper abdomen may also be tender to touch.
