Not usually: Melanomas are often without symptoms, only recognized by changes in size, shape, color irregularity, and occasional irritability (like itching). These often invade the underlying skin and may spread via lymph vessels (like squamous cell ca) ; via blood vessels. Any such changes at a site should be soon seen by you md or qualified dermatologist for biopsy. Do not typically ulcerate or bleed early.
