Surgery: This is dependent on what needs to be done. Some tailor's bunions require bone cuts with pin fixation and some do not. Without your x rays in front of me that is impossible to answer. See your podiatrist for an exam and x rays.

All depends on : What is done. Sometimes a simple bunionectomy with no cutting shifting over of the metatarsal head and sometimes the metatarsal is cut into to shift the head over. Healing periods will differ. These are questions to discuss with your surgeon.
