Read: There is anatomy and physiology on line or at the library. Gyn exam will include abdominal exam. Rectal which is unpleasant but not painful. They will do external exam of hymen and depending on vaginal opening may scope or digital, exam of vagina and cervix.

Call ahead: You are certainly not the first or last to need such an evaluation and the docs & their staff know it. You may want to call ahead & talk with the office coordinator & share your concerns. Much of what they do is obtain a history and do a superficial exam. Other info they can sometimes get with non invasive techniques & they have special tools for just this type of case.
