Asthma: It seems your asthma is still not well controlled. I suggest you go back to your treating physician or consult an allergist to help you manage your asthma better. The cough will last until the asthma is controlled.

Cough=inflammation: So the cough that continues is often due to airway inflammation. While the bronchi and airways are open and you are not as "wheezy" or "tight, " your airways are still much more overactive than they are without this inflammation and this is a set up to another attack. More maintenance medication even a higher dose or sometimes steroids are used to help calm this inflammation down. Talk to ur dr.
