Possibilities...: A cough that lasts for 4 months is by definition a chronic cough. Possible causes include bronchospasm, GERD, sinus disease. Each of these should be aggressively treated until the cough is controlled. The likely diagnosis is bronchospasm which can be treated with bronchodilator and steroid inhalers. Antibiotics are not needed since an infection would be shorter duration. See a lung doctor.
