Ask GI: It depends on the type of benign polyp. Usually 1-3 years.

5 or ten years: If you have never had a dangerous (pre-cancerous polyp known as an adenoma) and you have no family history of polyps or colorectal cancer, then the recommended interval is ten years, if your polyp was "pre-cancerous" but benign, the recommendation is 5 years.
