Confusional arousal: It is possible that you have underlying sleep apnea and that the Lorazepam impaired your breathing and resulted in lower oxygen levels. That could cause you to wake up feeling confused. I think it would be reasonable to see a sleep disorder specialist. Performance anxiety is best treated with psychotherapy and if necessary with a beta blocker. Have a happy new year.
