Depends.: They each have their purpose and place. I am a huge fan of Gabapentin as a first line medication for neuropathic pain. It comes generic so most people can afford it, is pretty well tolerated, is effective, and comes in a range of doses. But this is just my opinion. Depending on your personal history, your doctor will advise you on what they think is best.

Not easy: This is not easy to answer as different people respond to each medication in their own way and with different benefits and potential side effects and adverse effects. Ask your doctor about this as they know you and may be able to help you choose based on you and your medical needs and history.
