Both can be helpful: Both Lyrica (pregabalin) and Gabapentin are used to treat the pain of neuropathy (burning, tingling and sharp, stabbing pain). People respond differently to different medications, so one might work better for one person than another. Some people have side effects to one or the other. If one doesn't work (at what should be an effective dose), it would be worthwhile to try the other.
