Both are indicated.: Intuniv is long acting Tenex (guanfacine) and Kapvay is long acting clonidine. Both are alpha-2 agonists and decrease the Norepinephrine drive. The effect therefore is to calm. Both can be effective, however, of the two, the clonidine molecule has a greater propensity towards sedation. Discuss with your doctor further please. Take care.
