Numb: This sounds like 2 different problems . Your first best solution is to see your podiatrist for an exam . Possibilities include neuroma, and old trauma or fungal infection to the nails.

Trauma: It sounds like you had some type of trauma to the toes for the nails to fall off. Have them checked by a podiatrist.
