Could be: Could be, but not necessarily. Could be related to dental disease. Your dentist could tell you if tooth loss secondary to dental disease or if there is concern for bone mineral density loss being the cause.

NO: Aging plays a little role in bone loss and especially tooth mobility. Mobility is a symptom, not a cause of concern and usually is reversible. Schedule with your dentist for exam regarding perio, endo, prosth, food impaction, faulty restoration, etc... If underlying cause of bone loss is eliminated, the tooth will firm up.
