Yes. Good: Surgical technique by the surgeon to preserve bone is very important to help. Bone grafting in the socket is also an excellent idea for preservation. Don't smoke and get good nutrition. Keep hygiene at a high level. Good luck.

Yes...: The placement of an implant. The bone resorbs over time because it is not being stimulated. Placement of an implant in a healed extraction site will stimulate the bone and actually make it more dense as the implant and crown are brought into function.
