Many things.: D dimer is only elevated when there is clot breakdown…..But that could occur at that low level from a variety of non serious things. Really need to know why the test was drawn to be able to interpret it properly.

Clinical context: D-dimer values near the edge of a reference range are difficult to interpret, and are meaningful only in the context of the big picture. There are false-positives. If a search for a thrombus / thromboembolus and for disseminated intravascular coagulation were non-revealing, perhaps you would do best simply to be thankful for good health.
