It all depends on: Location in the colon and whether your surgeon feels you are a candidate for laparoscopy vs laparotomy. Let your surgeon make that decision. He/she is the best judge. If you have a choice, laparoscopy has a much quicker recovery time.

Either way: Must be removed , laparoscopic surgery will have slightly quicker recovery, less pain , due to your cardiac surgery which ever takes shorter operation time time you should choose, increased intra abdominal pressure may not be good for you as in laparoscopy discuss with your surgeon and cardiologist
