Ear infection: Even with all that treatment, it takes time for all those things to work and the fluid trapped in your middle ear to resolve. You can also help things along by "popping" your ears, chewing gum. It can take a day or two for the fluid to drain or it can take weeks. Avoid things like strong scents or irritants such as smoke that can cause your body to make even more mucous. Use lots of humidity too!
