Not necessarily: Take as directed, they usually kick in in about 30 to 45 minutes, and are not formulated to release all the medication at once. You may put yourself at risk if you do so. Everything cannot be instantaneous.

Not a good idea: Many medications are formulated to release the correct amount of medication over an extended period of time while minimizing unwanted side effects. If you crush the tablet you may find that you get a very high initial dosage (enough to make you sick) and then it quickly wears off. Repeating this process can be very dangerous as the unwanted side effects of the medication build up.
