Lymphadenitis: Neck is a common area for lymph nodes to be enlarged due to infection (bacteria or virus). In your case it could be ear infection. The common treatment in this situation is an antibiotics. They are not useful to treat viral infection. Rec.: see doctor for physical examination and treatment.

Neck lymph nodes: They are typically small , less than 1.0 cm and not easy to feel. 1.1 cm is borderline enlarged. Jugular nodes often react to acute or chronic inflammation in the tonsils. See an ENT for a good head and neck exam and further work--up, if needed.
