See doc: Spreading redness from a scratch on the eyelid sounds like a possible infection, and infections around the eye can be dangerous. I would at least call his health care provider to see if needs being seen today. Otherwise i would take him to an urgent care or er to get him examined. It is better to be safe than sorry, especially with a child this young dealing with a possible eye infection.

Watch: Keep it clean.Perhaps antibiotic ointment to prevent infection.Otherwise just watch for a problem.
