Can be: It's possible that this cycle was normal. The definition of menopause (average age is 51), is 1 year without a period. Given that this type of bleeding can be associated with uterine cancer, it's best that she get it checked out and possibly get a uterine biopsy to make sure that everything is normal. 99% chance it is, but wouldn't want to miss anything.
