A member asked:

If a breastfeeding mother suddenly have menses, is that because her body thinks she's weaning?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: When you are regularly breastfeeding or pumping breast milk, you menses are on hold because of high levels of a hormone prolactin. If the gap between feeds is longer the level of prolactin may drop and you can have your menses.
