Follow up: Without seeing your actual sonogram it sounds like you are describing a subchorionic hematoma which is a complex term meaning bleeding in pregnancy. They may have also seen a gestational sac from a twin pregnancy that did not form. 50% of women bleed in early pregnancy. Most will do fine but some unfortunately will miscarry. You will have to be monitored over time by your doctor.
