Inflammation: Fat stranding is most commonly a descriptive term used in the presence of inflammation. The "strands" in fat surrounding bowel represent fluid and inflammatory cells.

Had a CT enterography done to look for crohn's, and it showed subcentimeter lesions (likely cysts) on my liver and kidneys. Concerning that these didn't show on a CT scan I had done a year and a half ago? Or could they grow in that time?
